Medical Writer - If You Love Writing & Research - I

Median salary: $56,965 

I know, I know. Many of you are thinking, "What?!?!?!" But as crazy as it sounds, some of us chose our college classes based solely on the fact that there were complex, 30-page research papers due at the end.

If you’re a left-brained/right-brained type who loves the science of research and the art of writing, consider a career as a medical writer. You'll definitely need a bachelor's degree and in some cases, potentially a master's. But keep in mind this is an entry-level salary, and once you get a couple of years of experience under your belt, there's even more potential to cash in.

Fired? Why?

Actually, I was nonreappointed. There were many issues at my daughter's Elementary school. She is now at H.L. Johnson Elementary. I didn’t speak up about that soon enough. I just tried to keep my head down and get it all done. This wasn’t a realistic strategy, and I ended up making some mistakes. It taught me a really valuable lesson about the need to communicate better when transportation is a problem and to figure out ways to make sure we’re on the same page about priorities. Since then, I’ve put a real premium on keeping lines of communication open so that that never happens again.
