I will try this... When my hair inventory is lower...

Product Review || OGX (Formerly Organix) Brazilian Keratin Therapy Conditioner

NOTE:  This product was purchased at Target.

Purpose: "... strengthen and soften the hair, ... smooth the cuticle for straight, strong tresses, adding a brilliant glow and luminescent shine ..."

Number of trials: numerous over the course of months

How I used it:
Applied to freshly washed hair.
Waited for 3-5 minutes (as instructed).
Then rinsed.

THE REVIEW:

Organix products are usually a miss for me, but this one has actually been a hit.  To me, it is comparable to Aphogee 2-Minute Keratin Reconstructor in effectiveness.  It leaves my hair just as moisturized and strengthened.  The smell is also very pleasant, like a toned down cocoa butter scent.  I really like to use this product prior to flat ironing because the end result is well-conditioned,  super smooth, shiny hair.  This conditioner has the potential to become a regular one in my stash, though Aphogee 2-Minute is still my numero uno.

10/09/14 - car repossessed
10/20/14 - car back in MY possession!!

awesomely awesome and cheap leave in condishioner!!

I use a small 2oz. container.
Here are the ingrdeients

  1. Fill up 50% of the bottle with aloe vera gel leaving space to add the essential oils, jojoba, glycerin, and water.
  2. Next add 10 drops of two random essential oils and three to five drops of jojoba oil.
  3. Add a very tiny amount of vegetable glycerin if you air dry your hair. Either use only a teeny bit or omit completely.

Background Information:
  • Aloe Vera moisturizes the hair and keeps it soft.  It is packed with vitamin B12, vitamin C, amino acids, minerals, and salicylic acid.  It has been used for general hair health, hair growth, and also as a hair shampoo and conditioner.
  • Rosemary Essential Oil stimulates hair follicles, therefore increasing hair strength, hair growth, and for dry and flaky scalps.  It has also been used as a remedy for mental fatigue.
  • Lemongrass Essential Oil stimulates hair follicles and also adds a refreshing citrus fragrance to the leave-in conditioner.  It has anti-bacterial properties and is calming and soothing to the body.
  • Jojoba Oil is the closest oil to skin’s sebum.  Therefore, is extremely healing and moisturizing for the hair.  It is a non-greasy oil absorbing immediately into the hair.  This will help with hair frizz and dryness.
  • Vegetable Glycerin is known for being a humectant.  It is an amazing ingredient to add when air drying hair.  It is amazing for curly hair and really dry hair.  It should be used very sparingly so that it doesn’t create a sticky film.
